New shows, new music, a documentary… South America again? Oasis’s possible, and ever-shifting, next steps
After playing 41 shows last year, Oasis decided to take a strategic pause to reassess the route ahead and pushed those plans back to 2027.
There has been plenty of talk about what Oasis might do next. And the truth is that the success of Live ’25 has changed the course of quite a few things.
As reported here on Oasis News last year, the initial idea was for Oasis to play a second leg of the tour in 2026, with shows in Europe, in places left off the original run, and further dates in the United States, following the huge demand when tickets went on sale in 2024.
After playing 41 shows last year, Oasis decided to take a strategic pause to reassess the route ahead and pushed those plans back to 2027.
Here is what is expected next (today, 01/07/2026).
While the band took a sabbatical during the first half of this year, Noel Gallagher remained in the studio, as he often does, working especially on a live album that is expected to be released later this year.
The World Cup has also moved the Gallaghers’ calendar around. Noel is expected to head to the United States soon to watch the final matches, and only after that will Oasis begin to resume its official schedule.
The main release arrives on 11 September, with the Live ’25 documentary, followed by the live album.
The band is still planning when to announce its next dates, in Europe and North America, for 2027. There is a chance this could happen shortly after the World Cup, but it is also possible that everything will be announced together around the time of the documentary.
And where does Brazil fit into all this?
Amid all these releases, Oasis has been working on the possibility of putting out new music, although the format is still unclear, whether just an EP or an actual full-length album.
And that also has a direct impact on the schedule.
Oasis, as a band, has not gone into the studio together since 2007. And plenty has changed since then.
Although the group is interested in touring the world again, the likeliest scenario is that any new South American dates would only appear in 2028.
However, as has become clear, Oasis have been taking things one day at a time, and every plan is subject to change.
We’ll keep watching.
