With a new tour now confirmed for 2027, one of the biggest questions surrounding Oasis’ next run of shows is who will be joining the band on stage.
Live ’25 brought three major additions to the touring line-up: Bonehead, one of the band’s founding members who left Oasis in 1999; Christian Madden, the keyboard player who previously toured with Liam Gallagher during his solo career; and Joey Waronker, the versatile American drummer who emerged as something of a surprise choice for the role, with Chris Sharrock and Zak Starkey having previously been among the names most heavily linked with the job.
According to reports in the british press, citing sources close to the band, Oasis are expected to keep the same line-up for 2027, with rehearsals currently expected to begin in April.
In recent days, some fans had speculated that Joey might not be returning after his name was missing from the end credits of the film Don’t Look Back In Anger.
One theory circulating among fans has linked Waronker’s absence from the credits to his membership of SAG-AFTRA, the US union representing actors, performers and media professionals. The speculation centres on the union’s rules regarding members working on non-union productions, although there has been no confirmation that this was the reason for his omission from the film’s credits.
On Tuesday, american singer-songwriter Beck also appeared to offer another indication that Waronker could be returning to Oasis in 2027.
Asked whether Joey would join him on tour in 2026 and 2027, Beck said: “I don’t get Joey. He’s a busy man, but he played on the record and we always play together when we have a chance.”
Waronker played on Beck’s new album and has worked with the singer on several occasions over the years.
